Memory cards as used in smart phones, action cams and digital cameras are FAT formatted (exFAT, FAT32). This means fragmented files can not be recovered intact by conventional undelete and photo recovery software.

JPEG Recovery LAB was specifically designed to puzzle back the different fragments of photo and video files back together. So, where other software recovers corrupt, incomplete and unplayable photo and video files, JPEG Recovery LAB recovers intact files.

It only supports specific file formats:

  • JPEG, JPG
  • CR2 (Canon RAW photos)
  • NEF (Nikon RAW photos
  • AVI video
  • MOV video
  • MP4 video
  • MPEG-2 video

System requirements

  • Operating system: 64-bit Windows 7 or later with .NET 4.5.
  • CPU: Whatever best desktop CPU you have available. There is no minimum CPU requirement, but processing speed is almost exclusively limited by CPU performance. You can carve the media on a laptop CPU, but it will take longer.
  • RAM: 2 GB per CPU core, 8 GB minimum.
  • An internet connection. JPEG Recovery LAB requires internet access for license validation and telemetry.
